Highlights from the 2026 China Cybersecurity Week Hong Kong Sub-forum

28 September, 2026

On 17 September, Yulevo participated in the 2026 China Cybersecurity Week Hong Kong Sub-forum. The event brought together representatives from government, industry and academia to explore how Hong Kong can strengthen cyber resilience while accelerating digital innovation and AI adoption.

Jointly organised by the Digital Policy Office, Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force, and the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Professional Association, the forum covered a wide range of priorities—from cross-border data and trusted AI infrastructure to AI security, talent development and ecosystem collaboration. As a member of the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Professional Association, Yulevo welcomed the opportunity to contribute to this important industry dialogue.

Building a Stronger Cybersecurity Ecosystem for the AI Era

The closing panel, “Building Hong Kong’s Cybersecurity Ecosystem in the AI Era,” examined the most pressing security challenges emerging as AI is adopted across industries, as well as the collaboration required to address them.

During the discussion, our Co-founder James Cui shared three observations:

  1. AI is increasing the speed, scale and sophistication of cyberattacks. At the same time, AI applications, models and infrastructure are becoming new targets that organisations must protect.
  2. Data security is fundamental to responsible AI. AI training and inference depend on large volumes of data and also generate new data. Organisations therefore need to ensure that data is collected, used and protected in a secure, lawful and responsible way.
  3. Hong Kong needs more cross-disciplinary cybersecurity talent. The next generation of professionals must understand IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and AI. Closer collaboration among industry, academia and the wider Greater Bay Area ecosystem will be essential to developing these capabilities.

These challenges cannot be solved by a single organisation or technology. Building a resilient local ecosystem requires sustained information sharing, practical cooperation, stronger talent pipelines and security capabilities that evolve alongside AI.

The panel also provided an opportunity to share several areas of Yulevo’s current exploration and practice.

In AI for Security, we combine large models, security tools and rich endpoint and workload telemetry to support faster alert analysis, attack-chain reconstruction and more efficient investigation. Our approach also extends to proactive threat monitoring, using dynamic allowlisting to identify deviations and guide deeper analysis.

In Security for AI, we are extending detection and protection to AI-related processes, applications and workloads. By collecting high-value system and application telemetry with minimal impact on business operations, organisations can gain the context needed to identify risks and protect emerging AI environments.

The underlying principle is simple: data becomes a meaningful security advantage only when organisations can collect, understand and apply it effectively.

Looking Ahead

Cybersecurity will be a critical foundation for Hong Kong’s next stage of digital development. As AI adoption expands and digital infrastructure becomes more interconnected, resilience, trusted data use and proactive defence will become increasingly important.

Yulevo will continue to invest in Hong Kong, work closely with local partners and contribute practical expertise to the city’s cybersecurity community. We look forward to helping organisations build stronger protection for endpoints, cloud workloads and emerging AI environments.

Generative AI has already changed how security teams interact with security data. Copilots can summarize alerts, explain unfamiliar activity, generate queries, and recommend next steps. However, helping analysts understand the work is not the same as completing it. This gap is driving the next stage of AI in security operations: the shift from AI-assisted analysis toward AI-driven workflows.
